A young Nigerian app developer, Mohammed Aliyu, has launched a new app known as “ShapClick” to compete with popular social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter and other social apps.
ShapClick app is available on App Store and Play Store for iPhone and Android users to download and register for free.
ShapClick is a Nigerian application developed for the purpose of sharing news, photos, videos as well as marketing goods and services to the many clickers around the world.
According to Mr. Hyacinth Chinweuba, spokesperson for the app developer, the social media app was launched on November 22, 2021.
Chinweuba said ShapClick is a native messaging app, which allows users to chat, make audio and video calls, unlimited group chats as well as buy affordable and genuine products.
Chinweuba further stated that ShapClick is a social media application that allows people to connect with each other in communities, share videos and audios, stickers and files, blog and also grow their businesses. .
“Some of the benefits of the app include the ability to chat, share videos and files. The app is safe as additional authentication has been implemented to protect end-to-end encryption of private chats between users “, did he declare.
He said the app is designed in a way to protect user information and privacy.
With the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) putting mobile subscriptions in June 2021 at 163 million, which has relied heavily on a foreign messaging app that serves next to no local content, ShapClick is well placed to fill that gap. .
Chinweuba said there was no doubt that Nigerians were hungry for new technology and needed something different that could be called “our own”.
“We are not in ShapClick for revenue purposes, we are here to solve a bigger problem and create jobs in the country,” he added.
